The mobile court has sealed off five polythene factories and awarded jail sentence to five people

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has seized 4,000 kilograms of polythene from Chakbazar area in the capital during a mobile court drive on Monday. 

Palash Kumar Bosu, executive magistrate of RAB-3 conducted the drive while the Department of Environment provided necessary assistance during the raid. 

The mobile court has sealed off five polythene factories during this drive. It also awarded jail sentence to five people, one year each.  

Palash Kumar Bosu told to the reporters that the five factories have been manufacturing polythene that damage the natural environment and also storing those without permission of the relevant authorities.  

So, we have seized the polythene and sealed off the factory, he added. 

During the drive, RAB detained Rasel Forazi , an employee of Rahmat Transport; Akhter, owner of  Mushrraf Packaging and its employee Sujon Mia; Sobuj Mia of Sumon Packaging and Azizul Hoque of Momotaj PP.
