The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Upazila Parishad (UP) chairman and Union Awami League President of Pabna's Dhalarchar, Korban Sardar Ali with 229 sacks of relief rice on Monday night.

Confirming the Matter to The Business Standard, Commander Aminul Kabir of RAB-12 Pabna Camp said, "Working on a tip-off we arrested Korban Sardar Ali while selling rice from his own office's store house at Badherhat Bazar of Ruppur Union. RAB also rescued the sacks of relief rice."

"Instead of keeping the sacks of relief in UP building he brought those here," he added.

"Bera Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Asif Anam Siddiqui confirming the matter said, "RAB is operating the drive. Legal actions will be taken depending on complaints."

The RAB was still operating drive at Badherhat while filing this report.
