Policeman arrested for allegedly raping a minor in Khulna
The policeman named Rezaul Shikdar and the victim are neighbours
A police official named Rezaul Shikdar, 23, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a nine-year-old child in Khulna.
The incident took place in Mokampur village of Terokhada upazila in Khulna around on Monday at around 11 am.
According to local sources, Rezaul and the victim are neighbours. Rezaul – posted at the Natore Police Lines – came home on a leave. On Monday morning, Rezaul called the nine-year-old in his home and allegedly raped the child.

Upon hearing the screams of the child, locals rushed inside Reazul's home and caught him red handed. Later, they handed Rezaul to the Terokhada police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Terokhada police station Shapan Kumar Roy said, "Rezaul has been arrested on charges of rape. The child has been sent to Khulna Medical College for treatment and collection of rape evidence."
"Rezaul is a fairly new recruit in the police," added Shapan. He also said strict legal action will be taken against Rezaul if he is found guilty.
