The court of Barguna’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi passed the order today

A Barguna court has sent two local leaders of Awami League and Chhatra League to jail in a case filed over forgery in the police constable recruitment test.
The court of Barguna's Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi passed the order today.
The defendants are Barguna district Awami League's organising secretary Raisul Alam Ripon and Chhatra League's organising secretary Rezwanul Islam Babu. Both of them had been out on bail.
They appeared before the Barguna court today and applied for bail again.
The court denied bail and sent them to jail. At the same time, the case was prepared for trial and sent to the court of Barguna Judicial Magistrate Md Yassin Arafat.
According to the case statement, Babu, instead of another candidate, took part in the written test for the recruitment of police constables in exchange for a large sum of money. But he was later caught.
On April 21, 2017, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Barguna Sadar Police Station Shamim Reza filed a case in this regard.
Later, during the case investigation, the police found the money was paid through a cheque and seized a cheque for Tk5 lakh from Raisul Alam Ripon.
Ripon, Babu, and four others were charged in the case on December 5 of that year.
