Police cordon Sylhet’s Chowhatta area as bomb-like device found
Some local people informed police on Wednesday evening after seeing a suspicious object attached to a motorcycle parked near Singhabari (in front of the former police check post) in Chowhatta

Police have cordoned off the Chowhatta area of Sylhet city as a bomb-like object on a motorcycle was found there.
The traffic movement on Chowhatta-Zindabazar road was stopped and the bomb disposal unit has been informed.
Some local people informed police on Wednesday evening after seeing a suspicious object attached to a motorcycle parked near Singhabari (in front of the former police check post) in Chowhatta.
Later, Azbahar Ali Sheikh, deputy commissioner of Metropolitan Police (North), and Selim Mia, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station along with some senior officials visited the place and cordoned off the area.
Selim Mia said the device looked like a bomb.
"So we surrounded the place and informed the bomb disposal unit of the police."
