Mother, daughter hacked dead in Cox’s Bazar over land dispute
According to local sources, there had been a long dispute between Abul Kalam and Azizul Haque’s families over the boundaries of their houses
A woman and her daughter were hacked to death at Cox's Bazar's Eidgaon area on Tuesday night over a land-related dispute.
The deceased were identified as Rasheda Begum, 32, wife of Azizul Haque of the Charpara area of North Larabagh and their daughter Jannatul Ferdous, 13.
According to local sources, there had been a long dispute between Abul Kalam and Azizul Haque's families over the boundaries of their houses.
Sequel to the dispute, the two families locked into a fierce clash around 8pm.
At one stage, Abul Kalam hacked Azizul Haque's wife and daughter indiscriminately, leaving the duo critically injured.
Later, the injured were rushed to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where doctors pronounced them dead.
On information, police recovered the murder weapon, said Officer in Charge of Eidgaon Police Station Inspector Abdul Halim adding that they are trying to arrest accused Abul Kalam who went into hiding after the incident.
