Man held with 2,670 yaba pills in stomach at Dhaka airport
A man with some 2,670 yaba pills stashed in his stomach has been arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport of the capital.
The arrestee – Md Shahidullah, 42 – came to Dhaka on a US-Bangla airlines flight from Cox's Bazar and attempted to sneak through the Dhaka airport.
Md Jiaul Haque, additional superintendent (media) of the Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBN), confirmed the information to The Business Standard, saying the arrest was made on Monday night.
Before boarding the flight from Cox's Bazar, Shahidulla put the yaba pills in 58 small packets and swallowed those.
After landing at Dhaka, the APBN officials detained him on suspicion. During interrogation, he confessed to carrying contraband yaba pills in stomach.
After an X-ray confirmed the issue, the police officials recovered a total of 2,670 of yaba pills from his stomach, the Additional SP said, adding that the process of filing case was underway.
