Ex-MP Jafar Alam indicted in attempt to murder case
Officer-in-Charge of Pekua Thana Mohammad Sirajul Mostofa said a total of four accused in the case were arrested
Former lawmaker and Chakaria Upazila unit AL President Jafar Alam and 34 others were indicted last night (3 October in an attempt to murder case filed with Pekua Thana.
District unit General Secretary Salauddin Ahmed was also accused in the case.
A BNP activist Abdur Rahim, a resident of the Toitong union, filed the case.
According to the case, a few Awami League activists attempted to murder him at a vote centre in Toitong Union on 30 December 2018 following the order of Jafar Alam and the General Secretary of Cox's Bazar district unit AL Salauddin Ahmed.
Officer-in-Charge of Pekua Thana Mohammad Sirajul Mostofa said four accused in the case were arrested. The detainees were sent to jail.
