Rapid Action Battalion has arrested a councillor of Dhaka North City Corporation today morning from Moulvibazar's Sreemangal area in anti-casino drive.

The detainee – Habibur Rahman Mizan- is councillor of No 32 ward of the city corporation.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, RAB Legal and Media wing director Sarwar Bin Kashem said: "Habibur was trying to flee the country. He was arrested during a move to cross the border."

The elite force conducted massive drive across the country against illegal gambling and casinos. Casino kingpins including Islam Hossain Chowdhury Samrat were arrested during the raids.
