BGB arrests 4 Rohingyas with 1.2 lakh yaba pills
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested four Rohingyas today in possession of 120,000 pieces of yaba. They were captured in the Reju Amtali border area of Ukhia in Cox's Bazar.
Members of the paramilitary force arrested the four during a drive around 3am, said Md Abdul Ajij Bhuiyan, deputy commanding officer of BGB battalion-34.
The arrestees were identified as Md Syed, 37; Enayetur Rahman, 21; Nur ALam, 30; Md Jubayer 20; all are residents of Kutupalong Rohingya camp.
Acting on a tip that a number of drug peddlers could enter Bangladesh with a large consignment of yaba, a BGB team of Reju Amtali border outpost took position at Baganpara of Rajapalong Union late at night.
Around 3 am, the four were spotted, entering Bangladesh territory on foot.
The BGB team later detained them and recovered yaba pills tied to their bodies.
They were handed over to local police station for further legal action, Md Ajij added.
