ASI Soumen sued over Kushtia triple murder
Victim Asma Khatun’s mother Hasina Begum filed the case against Soumen
A murder case has been filed against the lone accused Assistant Sub-Inspector Soumen Roy in connection with the killing of three people, including his wife Asma Khatun and son Robin, in Kushtia.
Victim Asma Khatun's mother Hasina Begum filed the case against Soumen, ASI of Khulna's Phultola Police Station, with Kushtia Model Police Station on Sunday night, said Sabbirul Alam, officer-in-charge of the police station.
ASI Soumen, suspended from his job, is being kept at the DB office of Kushtia Police Line and is being interrogated, reports Jago News.
Investigation officer, also Kushtia Model Police Station OC (Investigation), Nishi Kanta Saha said that Soumen could be produced before the court in the afternoon with remand prayer and for recording statement under section 164.
In a chilling incident, Soumen shot dead three people in broad daylight in the district town of Kushtia on Sunday morning over 'extra-marital affairs'.
The gruesome killing took place at the Customs intersection of the district town's PIT Road around 11am.
After the attack, locals managed to catch the attacker, ASI Soumen, along with a pistol and handed him over to police.
