94 stolen laptops recovered from Bashundhara city, 5 held
Police raided two shops --Best Computer and Future Gadget-- at Bashundhara city and seized the laptops.
Police in separate drives arrested five members of laptop stealing gang and recovered 94 stolen laptops from two shops of Bashundhara city.
The arrestees are Minhaj Uddin, Abdul Ahad, 25, Sujon Sarker, 25, Masud Rana, 31 and Anamul Haque, 17.
Mahmud Khan, assistant commissioner of Tejgaon zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, today told The Business Standard they have arrested five people in charge of stealing the laptops.
Earlier on 22 March 22, a laptop was stolen in front of Al-Razi hospital at Farmgate area. Later, using modern technology, police detained Minhaj Uddin from Tejgaon for his involvement in stealing.
Based on the information provided by Minhaj, police raided two shops named Best Computer and Future Gadget at Bashundhara city. As the shops did not have the proper documents of the laptops, the police seized those and arrested the employees.
The two shops were involved with the laptop stealing gang, Mahmud Khan said.
He added that a case was filed with Tejgaon police station. Police are looking for the owner of shops.
