A Dhaka court on Monday placed five members of the banned militant outfit Ansar-Al-Islam on four-day remand each in a case lodged under Anti-terror Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the order after investigation officer of the case Shohel Mahmud produced the accused before the court with a 10-day remand plea.
The accused are Nizam Uddin, 21, Raihan Bhuiyan, 20, Hanif Uddin Sumon, 19, Sheikh Iftekharul Islam alias Arif, 25 and Mufti Muslim Uddin alias Muslim, 27.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the order as investigation officer (IO) and Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Sub-Inspector Sohel Mahmud produced the five accused before the
court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand each.
CTTC arrested the accused from capital's Sabujbagh area last night. Three machetes, three bags and four smartphones were recovered from their possession
