A case has been filed against three journalists under the Digital Security Act for distorting and spreading a statement of Brahmanbaria-3 MP R. A. M Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury.
District BCL general secretary Shahadat Hossain Shovon filed the case with the Sadar Model Police Station on Thursday night.
Mentioning the names of three people in the case, another 20/25 unidentified people have been made accused.
The two accused journalists are-editor of jubokontho24.com Mufti Neyamat Ullah Amin and Khalid Sayyaf, reporter of jubokontho24.com and also editor of another portal named modinanews24.com.
According to the statement of case, the MP gave an instructive speech in a meeting on & February organised by the district administration about the celebration of Mother Language Day.
A day later, on 8 February, Mufti Neyamtullah Amin published a report on his online portal edited by Khalid Sayyaf titled 'Students of Qawmi Madrasa have no right to stay in Bangladesh: MP of Brahmanbaria' and shared it on Facebook.
Later, modinanews24.com also published and shared the same news.
Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Officer in Charge Abdur Rahim said, "The case has been filed. Necessary action will be taken after investigation."
