Cox's Bazar's new SP Hasanuzzaman tests Covid-19 positive
SP Hasanuzzaman said he was healthy yet still gave the sample for test
Cox's Bazar's Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Hasanuzzaman tested positive for Covid-19 after 10 days of joining the district.
His coronavirus report came positive at Cox's Bazar Medical College's lab on Saturday, a day after he gave samples for the test.
Cox's Bazar Medical College and Hospital Assistant Professor (Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine) and Coronavirus Test Team Member, Dr Mohammad Shahjahan Nazir, confirmed the matter.
Dr Shahjahan Nazir said, "He along with others gave samples for the test yesterday. However, he showed no symptoms of Covid-19."
SP Hasanuzzaman said he was healthy yet still gave the sample for test.
"Since the report came out positive, I am in isolation at home and taking medicine as per the advice of the doctor," he said.
On September 23, Md Hasanuzzaman joined as Cox's Bazar Police Superintendent. Since then, along with DIG Anwar Hossain, he has been visiting almost every police station in the district, advising the new teams to work with professionalism and increase morale.
After the controversy over the murder of retired Major Sinha on the night of July 31, the then Cox's Bazar SP ABM Masud Hossain was replaced by Jhenaidah district SP Hasanuzzaman.
