Ten Supreme Court lawyers filed the writ in the relevant branch of the High Court today (10 September).
A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking directive to cancel the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha's (Rajuk) "illegal" allotment of plots, including a 60 katha plot in Purbachal, in the name of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.
Ten Supreme Court lawyers filed the writ in the relevant branch of the High Court today (10 September).
After filing the writ, Supreme Court lawyer Mohammad Misbah Uddin, one of the petitioner, told reporters that Sheikh Hasina had allotted plots in her own name in the Purbachal New City project of Rajuk.
Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, younger sister Sheikh Rehana and her two children were also allotted plots, he added.
"The matter was marked as a state top secret. As a result, except for a few officials, many people in Rajuk do not know anything about it," he said.
The writ also sought action under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act against those involved and the beneficiaries of these allocations.
Besides, instructions were sought to form a three-member committee headed by a former judge of the High Court to investigate these allocations.
Apart from Misbah Uddin, the other petitioners are: Md Rezaul Islam, Al Reza Md Amir, Md Golam Kibria, Mohammad Harun, Md Belayet Hossain Soja, Kamrul Islam Reagan, Hasan Mahmud Khan, Shahinur Rahman Shaheen and Md Zillur Rahman.
