SC lifts bar on publishing 9th Wage Board gazette
A four-member Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order.
The Supreme Court has cleared the way to publish the gazette notification of 9th Wage Board for the journalists staying a High Court status quo for eight weeks on Tuesday.
A four-member Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order following a petition filed by the government.
Earlier on August 6, a High Court bench comprising justices Obaidul Hassan and Muhammad Ali issued a two-month stay order after an initial hearing on a writ petition filed by the Newspaper Owners’ Association Bangladesh (Noab).
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Deputy Attorney General Amit Talukder represented the state during August 6 hearing. AF Hasan Arif and Md Ujjal Hossain stood for Noab.
Later, the government appealed against the ruling.
