Sagar-Runi murder: Probe report not submitted to court Thursday
According to the court documents, with the latest date, the court deferred the report submission date 79 times
The Rapid Action Battalion was supposed to submit the investigation report on the journalist couple Sagar-Runi murder case on 11 March, but the elite force failed to do that.
Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in an order fixed 21 April for submission of the report.

On February 11, 2012, Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi were brutally murdered in their rented flat in the capital's West Rajabazar.
Sagar was the news editor for Maasranga Television while his wife Runi worked for ATN Bangla as a senior reporter.
At the time of the gruesome murder, their four and a half years old daughter was at home.
Following this incident, then home minister Sahara Khatun said the mystery of the murder will be unearthed within 48 hours, but nine years have since passed.
Runi's brother filed a murder case with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
Primarily, the case was being investigated by the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police. Four days later, the investigation into the case was handed over to the detective branch (DB) of police.
On April 18, 2012, 62 days having the responsibility to investigate the case, the DB admitted its failure in the High Court.
The court then directed the Rab to investigate the sensational murder case.
