The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) sentenced Md Abdus Samad Musa alias Feroz Kha of Rajshahi’s Puthia to death for his involvement in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War on Tuesday.

Chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT Justice Md Shahinur Islam gave this verdict.

Prosecutor Jahid Imam represented the state while Abdus Sattar stood for the accused.

A total of 15 prosecution witnesses testified in the case while the defence lawyer could not produce any witness to vouch for the innocence of the accused.

On September 9, 2018, the tribunal indicted Musa and framed five charges including looting 8 to 10 houses, arson attack on 50/60 houses, confinement, murder of 15 people and torturing 21 people.

According to the prosecution, Musa was a supporter of Jamaat-e-Islami and subsequently joined locally formed RazakarBahini through his ranks in Peace Committee.
