A Dhaka court today sent the landowner of Banani's FR Tower and two Rajuk officials to jail in design forgery case.

Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court KM Imrul Kayes passed the order when they pleaded for bail upon surrendering before the court.

Earlier, the trio, FR Tower owner Syed Md Hossain Imam Faruque, former Rajuk's inspector Md Aurangzeb Siddique Nannu and former deputy director (estate) Md Sawkat Ali, were asked to surrender to the lower court on November 11.

A lower court had previously granted bail to the accused, but it was later stayed by the High Court.

A bench of Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain upheld the High Court stay order on November 11.

The Anti-Corruption Commission filed a case against the three over forgery of the design of FR Tower, which caught fire leading to the deaths of 25 people on March 28.
