A Dhaka court today placed microbus driver Nayeem on two-day remand over the killing of mountaineer Reshma Nahar Ratna.
The remand order was passed by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Millat Hossain.
Sub-Inspector Mobarok Ali of the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, also the investigation officer, produced Nayeem before court with a five-day remand plea.
Earlier, on Tuesday (August 18) Driver Nayem was arrested from Ibrahimpur in the Kafrul area of the capital.
The Hiace microbus that he drove was also impounded.
The microbus had passengers during the time of the accident.

DMP Tejgaon division Additional Deputy Commissioner Rubayat Zaman said, the owner claimed that he had rented the vehicle to a private firm and a driver named Nayem was at the wheel on the day of the accident.
Young mountaineer Reshma was killed after a microbus hit her bicycle on Lake Road near the Jatiya Sangsad in Dhaka on the morning of August 7.
