Court orders to attach properties of DIG Prisons Bazlur
Bazlur was arrested on October 20, 2019, from ACC headquarters in capital’s Segunbagicha in connection with the case lodged for amassing illegal wealth of Taka 3.08 crore.
A Dhaka court today ordered to attach immovable properties and freeze two bank accounts of suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons Bazlur Rashid, who is in jail after getting arrested in the graft case.
Judge Iqbal Hossain of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 passed the order, allowing pleas of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) counsel Mosharraf Hossain Kazal.
Today was fixed for holding hearing on charge framing in the case, and the accused was produced before the court for this. But the defence pleaded for time to take part in the hearing and filed a petition for granting bail to the accused.
The court scrapped the bail plea and deferred the indictment hearing till October 22.
Investigation officer (IO) and ACC deputy director Nasir Uddin filed the charge-sheet in the case at the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayes on August 26 and the court on September 1 accepted the charge-sheet and transferred the case to Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 for further proceedings.

The DIG and his wife Razzakun Nahar appeared before the anti-graft body on that day to face grilling about their illegal wealth. In the interrogation, the DIG couldn't give a logical answer about his illegal wealth.
