Control LPG price hike, HC asks BERC

The High Court has directed the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) to take steps to prevent sellers from increasing the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
An HC bench comprising Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice AKM Zahirul Huq passed the order on Tuesday.
At the same time, the court also directed BERC to submit a report regarding their initiatives taken complying with the order within the next 30 days.
The court passed the order in response to a petition filed by Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua on behalf of the Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB).
