AL leader Tushar placed on 4-day remand again
Awami League leader Tushar Kanti Mondal was placed on a four-day remand today in a murder case of jewellery shop employee Muslim Uddin Milon.
Sub-Inspector Rasel Miah, investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced Tushar before the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Md Asaduzzaman with a plea for granting ten days in remand.
The court, after hearing the statements of the prosecution, granted him four days in remand.
Tushar has so far been placed in remand three times.
On 29 September, Tushar Kanti was sent to jail after ending his four days police remand in connection with businessman Merajul Islam murder case.
Earlier, he was taken seven days police remand in connection with Abdullah Al Tahir murder case.
A total of 11 cases were lodged against Tushar Kanti Mondal for his alleged involvement in several killings during the anti-discrimination students' movement in different areas of Rangpur.
Tushar Kanti Mondal, General Secretary of Rangpur city Awami League, was arrested from Dhaka's Savar area on 17 September.
