4 to die for killing schoolboy in Dhaka

A Dhaka court sentenced four people including a couple to death in a case filed over the murder an eighth-grader named Kausar in the capital's Kamrangirchar area.

Dhaka Seventh Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Nazrul Islam passed the order on Monday.

The convicts are Altaf Hossain, his wife Farida and two others named Zamir Ali and Shahjahan.

Of the convicts, Zamir Ali is on the run. The other three accused were present in the court during pronouncement of the verdict.

They were sent to jail afterwards.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Humayun Kabir confirmed the news.

On May 16, 2012, Kausar was abducted for ransom. Though his family paid Tk50,000 to the abductors, they did not return Kausar.

Kausar's family filed an abduction case on May 26, 2012.

Later, police recovered Kausar body which was buried.

The abductors are neighbours of Kausar.
