Country may see heavy rainfall Monday
From 7 June, rainfall will continue to increase in the southern part of the country
Meteorologists forecast that the ongoing drizzle across the country may linger into the next several days, while heavy rainfall is likely to occur at many places on Monday.
During the monsoon season, southwest monsoon winds blow over the country, causing rainfall. This wind will enter the country's sky next Monday, due to which rainfall will increase, Prothom Alo reports quoting meteorologist MD Shahinur Rahman.
He said southwest monsoon winds are currently blowing along the Yangon coast of Myanmar. It may reach the Teknaf coast of Bangladesh in the next 2-3 days.
From 7 June, rainfall will continue to increase in the southern part of the country.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Meteorological Department also forecast that rain, thundershowers may continue for some days.
In a weather bulletin, it said rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places in the country in the next several days.
A number of districts, including the capital Dhaka, have been witnessing drizzle from this morning.
