The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned five people including the ex-director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad over the JKG Health Care scam.

They were asked to appear before an ACC interrogation team on August 12 and August 13.

Earlier on July 21, after facing a torrent of criticism from all corners, Dr Abul Kalam Azad resigned from his post.

The Detective Branch of police on Wednesday pressed charges against JKG Health Care Chairperson Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury, her husband Ariful Islam Chowdhury and six others in a case filed over the issuance of fake Covid-19 test certificates.

The detectives had earlier found involvement of eight JKG Health Care officials, including cardiac surgeon Sabrina and her husband Arif, in the forgery.
