Chinese citizen in Rangpur tested negative for coronavirus

A Chinese female worker, who was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital on February 16 with fever, has been tested negative for coronavirus.
Humayun Kabir, in-charge of coronavirus isolation unit of the hospital, said, "Lab technicians of The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) sent the samples of the patient for a test to Dhaka on Monday afternoon. Her reports arrived at our hospital yesterday where coronavirus test was found negative."
She has been released from the hospital, he added.
The Chinese worker returned from the coronavirus-stuck country China to her workplace in Nilphamari's Uttara Export Processing Zone area on February 4.
Earlier, three Bangladeshi students were admitted in the coronavirus unit of the hospital. They were also tested negative for coronavirus after further test by IEDCR.
The death toll from the new coronavirus in mainland China passed 2,000 as of today. The number of confirmed cases in China increased by 1,886, bringing the global total to over 73,325.
