A meeting of the central executive committee of Bangabandhu Lalitkola Academy was recently held at the temporary office of the academy at Fakirerpul under the chairmanship of AKM Shahidul Haque, honorary president of the academy and former IGP.
At the beginning of the meeting, a minute of silence was observed to pay deep homage to the immortal memory of the martyrs of Liberation War and Bangabandhu, the father of the nation, said a press release issued on Sunday.
Former VC of Dhaka University, President of BSS, Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Museum and Advisor of Bangabandhu Lalitkola Academy Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique attended the meeting as the chief guest.
Among others, General Secretary of the academy Zahid Hossain, Vice President SM Monirul Islam (Moni) and Joint Secretary Mejba Uddin Ahmed were present at the meeting.
AAMS Arefin Siddique, in his speech the chief guest, expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the academy even in the midst of the corona epidemic and called for speeding up the research activities on Bangabandhu and the Liberation War to present the true history to the nation.
Shahidul Haque expressed his determination to make the research activities of Bangabandhu Lalitkola Academy more dynamic in order to present the splendid history of Bangabandhu and the true history of independence to the new generation and sought the sincere cooperation of all.
