A case has been filed against more than hundred people over the attack on police during the clashes on Tuesday at Basurhat of Noakhali's Companiganj upazila.

Companiganj Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zakir Hossain filed the case on Wednesday afternoon, mentioning ninety-eight and several unnamed people.

Mir Zahidul Haque Rony, officer-in-charge of Companiganj Police Station, confirmed the matter and said, "The case was filed after several police officers were injured during the clash between the supporters of Mayor Abdul Quader Mirza and former Upazila Chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal."

One shot dead, over 50 injured in Noakhali AL factional clash

Reportedly, six police officers, including OC Zahidul Haque Rony, and more than 50 others were injured and one died in the deadly confrontation.

Earlier today, Police detained twenty-eight people in connection with Tuesday's factional clash.

The upazila administration also imposed section 144 in the municipality to avoid any untoward situation.
