Bucharest embassy observes National Mourning Day for first time
Bangladesh opened its embassy in Romania in 1972 but it had been closed in 1995

Bangladesh Embassy in Bucharest, reinstalled in July after its closure in 1995, has observed the National Mourning Day for the first time marking the 45th anniversary of the martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On the occasion, the embassy hoisted the national flag at half-mast. Among other arrangements, a flower bouquet was placed at the portrait of Bangabandhu and a one-minute silence was observed.
Besides, documentary shows, discussion and prayers were arranged to mark the day.
Md Daud Ali has been appointed Bucharest ambassador and he took the office on August 6.
Bangladesh opened its embassy in Romania in 1972 but it had been closed. The Romania government also closed its Dhaka embassy in 2000. The embassy started its journey again as per the prime minister's decision.
