Yet another Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, equipped with the latest technology, is going to be added to the national flag career Biman Bangladesh Airlines, according to a press release issued by Biman.
The new aircraft will land in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon of July 25. The Dreamliner will be welcomed by water cannon salute. Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, will inaugurate the third Dreamliner on August 7, 2019.
With the addition of the Dreamliner, the total number of aircraft in Biman fleet will be 15.
Earlier, a delegation of Biman has been to the Everett Delivery Center of Boeing in Seattle in order to take delivery of the aircraft.
Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners; and defence, space, and security systems.
Biman made an agreement with Boeing for purchasing 10 new aircraft in 2008. Until now, four Boeing 777-300ER, two Boeing 737-800, and two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft have been added to the Biman fleet.
The latest Dreamliner aircraft, which will arrive tomorrow, is named as Gangchil. The names have been chosen by the prime minister. Another Dreamliner is expected to be added in September this year.
There are 271 seats in Gangchil, of which 24 are in the business-class and 247 are in the economy-class.
Business class seats come with 180 degree recline and flatbed facilities, which will make the journey comfortable for the passengers.
Passengers will also enjoy internet and phone facilities along with other latest services.
