Bidyanondo adds country’s ‘biggest cooking pot’ to its kitchen

Bidyanondo has custom built a huge cooking pot as they need to cook for more than 10,000 people daily.

The non-profit's 'One Taka Meal' project took this initiative.

On their Facebook page they wrote, "As far as we know this is the biggest cooking pot in Bangladesh and this is the newest addition to our Bidyanondo mega kitchen.

This has been made by spending over Tk 1 lakh and will serve a very just cause. On a daily basis, we cook for more than 10,000 people and that requires a hundred or more big cooking pots.

To manage these hundred pots and cooking separately we need a huge amount of manpower, volunteer time, effort, money etc. To save resources and better manage the mega kitchen we have decided to revamp it.

We did not start our charity programmes only to find the leave of mind, rather strived to be efficient and serve the distressed population to the maximum. We do hope that you will stand by our side as always."

Bidyanondo is a non-profit organisation that helps the poor community of Bangladesh and performs various social activities.

Ek takay ahar (One Taka Meal) is a Bidyanondo project for underprivileged children where they offer food in exchange of only one taka.

They have set a menu with diverse items. In Dhaka, they select certain areas for different days of the week to distribute food.
