BGB seizes Indian goods worth over Tk1.79cr
The estimated seizure value of the seized goods is Tk1,79,08,250
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth about over Tk1.79 crore from Sylhet and Sunamganj frontiers in the last 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours from yesterday (14 October), the BGB personnel carried out operations in the border areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts and seized the goods smuggled from India, said a BGB press release signed by Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) Commander Lt Col Md Hafizur Rahman today (15 October).
Indian goods included 16,400kg of sugar, 2,850kg of apple, 369 sarees, seven lehengas, 4,099 sunglasses, 43 cows, nine buffaloes, 980 packets of bidis and 880kg of miscellaneous goods.
The estimated seizure value of the seized goods is Tk1,79,08,250.
