The High Court (HC) granted four-week bail to Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Mohammadpur unit’s President Mujahid Azmi Tanna in a case filed over attempted snatching of 212 goats in the capital.

A HC bench of Justices Obaidul Hassan and SM Kuddus Zaman passed the order on Monday.

Cattle trader Saiful Islam filed the case with Mohammadpur police station against Mujahid Azmi Tanna and his eight followers on August 11, police officials said.

According to the case statement, a group of traders were coming to Dhaka from Jashore and Jhenaidah carrying about 212 goats, BCL leaders stopped them at Jahuri Mahalla area of Mohammadpur on Babar road for extortion.
