Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the ruling Awami League, has dissolved its Chittagong University (CU) unit committee.
A press release signed by BCL president Saddam Hossain and general secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan was issued in this regard on Sunday.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of BCL, it said.
The move came after some Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men allegedly beat Moshrraf Shah, the Chittagong University (CU) correspondent of Prothom Alo. The BCL men reportedly threatened the journalist against reporting them or the BCL.

Following the incident, Rezaul told media that he was looking into the matter and would take action against those involved in the attack.
