Bangladesh will receive six lakh dosages of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine on Sunday.

Hualong Yan, Minister Counselor & Deputy Chief of Mission Embassy of China in Bangladesh, confirmed the news in his Facebook post on Friday.

"600,000 gift vaccines are heading to Beijing International Airport. Arrival in Dhaka:  June 13," he wrote.

Earlier in May, China gifted five lakh doses of its Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine to Bangladesh.

On 25 May, about 500 students from four medical colleges were administered the vaccine on an experimental basis.

Later, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) administered the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine to more than 450 Chinese citizens.

Last month, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said that Dhaka has placed its orders for June, July, and August as Sinopharm produces the shots after getting the orders.
