Bangladesh Railway to provide its own branded bottled water to passengers

The Bangladesh Railway will provide bottled water of its own brand to passengers to increase its quality of service.
An agreement has been signed today between the Bangladesh Railway and Shyamoli Food and Beverage Pvt Ltd in this regard, said a press release.
Rasida Goni, joint director general (operation)of Bangladesh Railway, and Romesh Chandra Ghosh, managing director of Shyamoli Food and Beverage Pvt Ltd, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
At the signing ceremony Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan said, "The Bangladesh Railway is making progress in every way. New rail lines are being set up. Single lines are being converted to dual gauge. Various initiatives have been taken to increase the standard of the passenger service."
The minister said the quality of the railway service would be enhanced by supplying an own branded bottled water.
At the same time, he emphasised on maintaining the prices fixed by the government and the quality of the products.
At present the Bangladesh Railway has its own catering service to provide food to the passengers while traveling.
By providing its own branded bottled water, the Bangladesh Railway will meet the passengers' demand for water as well as create an opportunity to establish the Bangladesh Railway as a brand. This will open a new source of revenue for the Bangladesh Railway without any cost.
