Bangladesh will observe one-day national mourning on Thursday in honour of Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, emir of Kuwait and a 'true friend' of Bangladesh, following his death.

The national flag at all state buildings will fly at half-mast on Thursday, says a press release issued from the Cabinet Division on Wednesday.

Prayers will be organized in all religious institutions of Bangladesh for the peace of his soul, the press release added.
