Bangladesh gives Tk65 cr for debt relief to Sudan

Bangladesh has provided Tk65 crore to Sudan as debt relief in order to help the country combat poverty.
The Ministry of Finance made the announcement through a media release this afternoon, saying the government responded to a call made by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Sudan, a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has been battered by excessive pressure of loan repayment.
Earlier last year, Bangladesh had provided Tk8 crore to Somalia to help the country battle rising poverty.
