Bangladesh and US Navy Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training ‘CARAT 2020’ ended
The concluding ceremony of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT)- 2020 between the Bangladesh Navy and the United States Navy was held on Monday at Chattogram BN Fleet Headquarters.
Rear Admiral M Mozammel Haque, Regional Commander of Chattogram Naval Area, was present as the chief guest on the occasion. The United States was represented by Commander Expeditionary Strike Group VII's Rear Admiral, Fred Kacher via video conference. The event was organised under the supervision of Commander BN Fleet and was attended by Chattogram Naval Area officials and invited guests, among others.
The main objective of this training was to improve the existing good relations between the US and the Bangladesh Navy. Other objectives included gaining a better understanding of the operational activities of the navies of the two countries, enhancing their capabilities and gaining exposure to advanced technology, achieved through various theoretical and practical trainings. The training and exercise was attended by US Navy warship USNS MILLINOCKET and Bangladesh Navy's warships, specialized units SWADS and naval aviation.
