Turkey wants to expand business with Bangladesh in the textile and jute sectors
Turkey's Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan has said his country is interested in expanding and developing trade ties with Bangladesh in textile and jute sectors.
The ambassador said this during a courtesy call on Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi at the latter's Secretariat on Wednesday, said a ministry press release issued on the day.
Apart from the friendly relations between the two countries, they discussed various bilateral issues and Bangladesh's economic progress at the meeting.
The minister told the Turkish envoy that Dhaka believes Ankara is its good friend.
He hoped that the country would invest more in expanding trade in textiles and jute.
Golam Dastagir said to the ambassador Bangladesh produces the best quality jute while diversified high-quality products are now manufactured from the natural fiber.
The items go to different countries, and Turkey is one of the leading importers from Bangladesh, he said, adding that Bangladesh wants to export more jute products to Turkey in the days to come.
