All seaports asked to hoist signal no 3

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a local warning signal no 3 for all major seaports, including Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra, due to the continued formation of deep convective clouds over the North Bay of Bengal and coastal areas.

The forecast, issued at 10am today (2 October) by meteorologist Md Manowar Hossain, urges fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay to proceed cautiously and stay close to the coast until further notice.

In addition, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds at speeds of 45-60 km per hour are expected in the regions of Jessore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar. River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist warning signal no 1.
Residents in affected areas are advised to stay alert for further updates and take necessary precautions during this period of unstable weather.
Yesterday evening the BMD issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in three divisions- Chattogram, Barisal, and Sylhet in the next 48 hours from 6am today.
The circular also warned about the landslide risk in the Chattogram division.
