Ahmad Kaikaus made principal secretary to prime minister 

Senior Secretary of Power Division Dr Ahmad Kaikaus has been made principal secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 

In this regard, the public administration ministry issued a gazette notification signed by its Deputy Secretary Md Tomijul Islam Khan on Sunday. 

Belonging to the 1984 batch of BCS (administration) cadre, Ahmad Kaikaus worked in various capacities. 

He served the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (EPRC) as chairman, equivalent to the rank of acting secretary.  

On December 15, 2016, he was made acting secretary of the power division and full-fledged secretary of the same division on 23 February, 2017.  

On 27 February this year, Kaikaus was promoted to senior secretary. 

Kaikaus received his Master of Arts degree in Development Economics from the Center for Development Economics, Williams College, Massachusetts, USA, and PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas, Texas, USA, according to website of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

Kaikaus also worked as part-time faculty at Collin County Community College in Texas, USA and at the American International University, Bangladesh. 

He regularly delivers lectures at programmes organised at the Public Administration Training Centre, Bangladesh Civil Service Academy, and the University of Dhaka.
