Adviser Asif vows to prevent Hindus from becoming political target
Mentioning the cultural incident at a temple in Chattogram and the theft at a temple in Jashore, the adviser said the accused have been detained already and due punishment will be served to them
The interim government will not let any Hindu to become political targets, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud said today (11 October).
"In the past, various political parties have fulfilled their interests using religion. But now, everyone will be able to live in harmony in a country rebuilt through the blood of the students and people," the adviser said after visiting two temples in Khulna this afternoon.
Mentioning the cultural incident at a temple in Chattogram and the theft at a temple in Jashore, the adviser said the accused have been detained already and due punishment will be served to them.
In response to questions on renovating the Sheikh Abu Nasser stadium in Khulna and arranging tournaments like BPL there, the adviser reiterated his commitment to renovate all the stadiums of the country and arrange regular sporting events.
High-ups of police and members of the Hindu community were present during the adviser's visit to the temples.
The youth adviser visited the temples on his way to Satkhira, where he will visit more temples and exchange views tomorrow (12 October).
