ACC sues man for Bogura land scam
ACC Assistant Director Rabindranath Chaki filed the lawsuit under the prevention of corruption act
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday filed a case against a man for allegedly embezzling Tk3.25 crore by selling government lands in Bogura.
ACC Assistant Director Rabindranath Chaki filed the case against Md Mainul Karim under the prevention of corruption act.
Mainul is a resident of Pragati Sarani in the capital.
In the case, the plaintiff alleged that Mainul, caretaker of Hafiz Uddin Khandaker Waqf Estate, sold about 45 decimals of land in Bogura's Sutrapur mouza (small administrative district) by obtaining permission from the authorities.
He sold the land at around Tk3.20 crore.
Despite getting the full amount by 2017, he did not deposit the money in the state coffers.
After a long investigation into the matter, the case was filed.
