8 members of Bashundhara Group MD Anvir’s family leave country on chartered flight
Eight members of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir's family, including his wife and children, have left the country for Dubai on a chartered flight on Thursday night.
A top official of the immigration police confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshall Muhammad Mafidur Rahman said, "Permission for a special flight was given to the Bashundhara Group family today subject to getting clearance from the special branch."
However, he could not confirm whether they left the country or not.
The names mentioned in an immigration department's flight schedule are- Sabrina Sobhan, Ahmed Walid Sobhan, Arisha Afroza Sobhan, Yeasha Sobhan, Rania Afroza Sobhan, Diana Hernandez Cacanando, Mohammad Kader Mir and Hosneara Khatun.
Earlier on Tuesday, a Dhaka court barred Anvir from leaving the country following police plea after he was made an accused of "abetment of suicide" of college girl Mossarat Jahan Munia.
Munia was found hanging in a flat in Dhaka's Gulshan area on Monday (26 April) evening. The victim's sister filed the case with the Gulshan police station against Anvir under Section 306 of the Penal Code later at night.
Some media outlets reported saying Anvir has left the country, but police said Anvir is still here as per their technology.
