6 police officers made additional IGP

The government has promoted six senior police officers to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification signed by Deputy Secretary Abu Sayied in this regard today (2 October).
According to the notification, the newly promoted Additional IGPs include Md Matiur Rahman Sheikh, Additional Deputy Inspector General (Addl-DIG) of Police Staff College, Dhaka (Promoted to DIG), Md Alamgir Alam, DIG, Police Headquarters, Sardar Tamij Uddin Ahmed, Addl-DIG, Special Branch (SB), Dhaka, (Promoted to DIG), Md Delwar Hossain Miah, DIG, Police Headquarters, Md Shah Alam, Additional IGP (Current Charge), SB and Md Abdullah Al Mahmud, DIG, Bangladesh Police Academy, Sarda.
It said that the promoted police officers will perform their duties at their current positions until further posting.
