6 killed as truck hits bus in Tangail

At least six passengers were killed and over a dozen more injured when a rashly-driven truck hit a bus in Ichail area of Tangail's Mirzapur today morning.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Confirming the matter, Gorai Highway Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Mozaffar Hossain said, "A bus was standing on the side of the highway in Ichail after its engine went out of order. At that time a vegetable-laden truck hit the bus from behind."

"Four bus passengers died on the spot and two more succumbed to their injuries at the hospital," he added.

Death toll from the accident may rise, the OC feared.
