At least six people were killed as a bus collided head-on with a microbus at Bijaynagar upazilla of Brahmanbaria early Friday.

Four of the deceased are Sohan, 20, Sagor, 22, Rifat,16 and Emon, 14. 

The injured persons are Shahin, 30, Bijay, 19, Abir, 18 and Jisan, 24. All of the victims hailed from Narayanganj.

Injured were taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital 

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, sub-inspector of Khatihata Highway Police said, a microbus was going to Sylhet from Naraynganj. A bus of Limon Paribahan was going to Dhaka from Sunamganj.

A head-on collision occurred between the two vehicles at around 2.30 and the microbus caught fire at Vati Kalisima area of the upazila. The bus plunged into a roadside ditch. Six passengers of microbus burnt to death and four others sustained burn injuries, he added.
